It’s Never Too Late to Create: Bobbie Bennett on Loss, Legacy, and Life After Widowhood

Who writes their first book at 79?
Apparently… I do. 😊
Look, I’ve had a few careers. Go-go dancer. Theater actress. Travel agent. Realtor. Secondhand Store. Photographer. Restaurant owner. But “first-time author at 79”? That wasn’t exactly on the bingo card.
Life has taken me through love, loss, laughter, heartbreak, entrepreneurship, widowhood… and more reinvention than I ever expected. I’ve buried two husbands, divorced one (he’s still kicking, by the way), raised a family, built businesses, and somehow found myself asking the question:
“I’m still here… now what?”
That question became a book: Widowhood: The Next Chapter – I’m Still Here, Now What?
And recently, I sat down with Veronica Bahn on Be Visible with Veronica to talk about it all.
We laughed.
We reflected.
We talked about grief, resilience, reinvention, and learning that life doesn’t stop just because you hit a certain age, or bury a certain number of husbands.
Because entrepreneurship isn’t just about business.
It’s about courage.
It’s about choosing to live fully every single day.
And sometimes, it’s about understanding that the pause is what allows you to grow your wings.
If you’ve ever wondered whether it’s too late to begin again, to write the book, to start the business, to create the next chapter… I hope you’ll listen.
Because I’m living proof:
It is not too late.
Not at 50.
Not at 60.
Not at 79.

Every breath matters. And if you’re still here, there’s still more to write.
Words Matter,
Bobbie 💛
